About Chad Lowery
As a Real Estate Investor in Athens, Chad knows the importance of a vibrant and safe community. Families, students, young professionals, and retirees look for a safe environment when deciding to locate in Athens. Chad decided to run for the Athens-Clarke County Commission District 6 seat when he realized that there was a need to raise awareness about the importance of a healthy and effective police department.
Chad grew up in Warner Robins and moved to Athens in 1979 to attend the University of Georgia. He graduated in 1983 with a degree in business. He owned and operated several small businesses before opening Lowery’s Tavern in downtown Athens in 1990. He operated Lowery’s until 1997 when he sold it and began investing in local real estate. That same year, he married his wife, Beth, was baptized, and joined St. James United Methodist Church.
Chad and Beth live in Athen's Commission District 6. Their family includes daughter Peyton, age 20, a student at UGA and son Tristan, Age 15, a sophomore at Clarke Central High School. Beth is an employee of the University of Georgia.
Chad's desire to serve others will translate into an effective commissioner who knows the constituents in District 6, listens to needs and suggestions, and votes in a manner that represents the people of the 6th commission district. He has resided in his home in District 6 since 1992. He and Beth plan to remain in Athens indefinitely.
